Are you a dynamic Locum Consultant? We have the best Role in the most exciting area now available:

Acute and General Internal Medicine, with a special interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology

What do we need?

We are looking to appoint a new general physician with an interest in acute medicine, diabetes and endocrinology; to work within our dynamic, forward thinking team at BSUH NHS Trust. Initially, the post is for 1 year. Alongside the 1 year locum we are developing a business case for a substantive role which we would advertise in 2018. The locum post holder would be welcome to apply for the permanent role. This post would be particularly suitable for someone with a specialty interest in Diabetes and Endocrinology. Applicants must be within 6 months of their CCT date in General Internal or Acute Medicine (or hold a GMC-recognised CCT-equivalent qualification).

Where will you work?

You will be joining a team of clinicians working across 2 sites (Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH), Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital (PRH), Hayward’s Heath who all participate in the acute and general medical service, with individual specialty areas of interest and expertise.

Why join BSUH?

The Trust is going through an exciting period of change with a £30M+ investments across both Emergency Departments within the Trust, which will focus on a full refurbishment and the development of a newly dedicated 35-space Ambulatory Care Unit, for completion in 2018.

The Trust has pioneered award winning work (HSJ awards) alongside the Emergency Department with joint working and the development of a single clerking tool and the planned continued development of an “acute floor” department working across specialties treating newly admitted patients.

BSUH values its links with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and the post holder will contribute to the teaching and training of both undergraduates and postgraduates.

Choose Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals, we are in the coolest part of the country, you can actually afford to buy a house here, be by the sea, walk in the countryside and enjoy the vast array of restaurants and bars that abound in this bohemian city.

What do you get?

You will receive a 10 PA contract, you will be able to continue your professional development and maintain a healthy work-life balance. There will be opportunities to develop your career through extending your clinical skills, and your experience and training in medical education, clinical leadership and service development.

Please refer to the person specification in the job description with regards to CCT requirements.

When completing the application form please ensure you complete the section relating to your CCT date. If you have already have your CCT please confirm when you will be on the GMC Specialist Register. Please be aware you only have 12 months from your CCT to join the specialist registrar otherwise you will have to go thorugh the CESR Route.

In addition to supplying us with your referee details for the last 3 years please also provide us with the contact details of your Responsible Officer for Appraisial and Revalidation

In the interest of equal opportunities, we want to make sure that information about candidates is provided in the same format so all applicants should fill in the standard application form on the NHS Jobs website and attach their cv.

Please be aware that candidates will be informed by email of the outcome of their application
