Our neonatal service is provided across two sites: the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and the Special Care Baby Unit at Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.

The Trevor Mann Baby Unit is one of two intensive care units within the Surrey and Sussex Neonatal Network and provides both medical and surgical neonatal care. Our unit currently has twenty-seven cots, nine of which are designated for intensive care; eight for high dependency and ten for special care. The Sussex Neonatal Transport Service operates from the Trevor Mann Baby Unit to provide 24/7 cover with similar services from Kent and Surrey.

The Special Care Baby Unit is led by a team of ANNPs who are supported by Consultant Neonatologists. The unit currently has eight special care cots.

We currently have vacancies for Band 5 Neonatal Staff Nurses on our Brighton site. The applicant must be a registered nurse or midwife. Some experience of neonatal care is desirable but not essential.

The post will require working on both sites.
