Are you looking for a new challenge within a dynamic and rapidly expanding team?

We are searching for an Interstitial Lung Disease/Bronchiectasis Respiratory specialist Nurse to join us at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, skilled individual, ready to join the team of nurses and physiotherapists, delivering respiratory care across secondary and primary care. You will work within a multi-agency team, bridging hospital and community based services. High quality care will be delivered by you to all chronic lung disease patients. The role will involve co-ordinating and delivering care to patients to facilitate admission avoidance and safe, timely discharge of patients. This role will involve seeing patients from the very start of their journey into hospital and at all stages of their care until discharge from hospital. You will be required to be provide patient care for those on this pathway, as well as providing education and support for patients with a wide range of chronic respiratory diseases and give expert advice and support to colleagues within the hospital environment.

The successful applicant will need to have a broad range of respiratory knowledge and skills and be prepared to work across primary and secondary care, providing cross site cover in the absence of other respiratory specialist nurses with the team.

Applicants require excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for caring for patients with respiratory disease and need to be motivated to continue their professional development within this supportive team.

Training opportunities are provided within the Trust for people keen to undertake further studies at degree and master’s level, as well as other opportunities where relevant, such as the Nurse Prescribing Course. We actively encourage and support personal and professional development.

Although the post will be based at one of the hospitals within Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals, the role will involve cross site working at Princess Royal Hospital and regular meetings with the community based teams.

There will be an unseen question at interview for a 10 minute presentation

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)
