Senior staff nurse (Band 6) Full-time (37.5hrs/wk) and Part-time (34.5hrs/wk) rotational post between Renal (Trafford) Ward and Acute Dialysis Team.

We are seeking hard working and enthusiastic Registered Nurses with renal experience to join our dynamic and highly motivated ward team. The Renal ward consists of 26 in-patient beds, and works closely with the other areas of the Sussex Kidney Unit to provide specialist high quality care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases across Sussex.

Successful candidates are expected to lead the nursing team and deputise for the ward Manager, have strong communication with the multidisciplinary teams and ensure that safety and quality are maintained at all times for patients, families and staff. This will be achieved by supporting the team with skill and enthusiasm.

This post includes rotations to the Acute Dialysis Team, who are also based on the ward, and therefore competencies in haemodialysis are required.

You will need to be able to show evidence of post registration experience within the renal setting and have completed a renal specific post-graduate course (or working towards completion of it).

We offer full orientation, training and preceptorship. Development and education is provided through in-house training, with the opportunity to undertake relevant clinical / university courses.

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.

If this post attracts sufficient interest before the closing date, we may decide to close this vacancy at an earlier date, so an early application is advised.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)

We may also use this advert to build our Bank staff. If you are unsuccessful at interview for a substantive role but meet the BSUH standards you may be offered a bank post.

The closing date may be brought forward once sufficient applications have been submitted.
