We are an ambitious organisation serving a population of more than 500,000 around Brighton and Hove and Mid Sussex as well as tertiary services for patients across Sussex and the south east of England. With a new executive team in place and a new hospital being built on site in Brighton, we are determined to build on the improvements made to date and ensure the organisation moves out of special measures for both quality and finance - our new Head of Communications and Engagement will play a key role in leading and inspiring this work.

We are looking for a truly exceptional candidate who will work with or Communications and Engagement Director to help the organisation fulfil its potential, improving internal communication and our external reputation.

You will have proven experience in a similar role, either within the NHS or externally and be able to demonstrate how you will ensure the communications and engagement team supports the organisation to achieve its objectives.

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)

We may also use this advert to build our Bank staff. If you are unsuccessful at interview for a substantive role but meet the BSUH standards you may be offered a bank post.
