We are seeking a highly organised and experienced individual to join our friendly and hardworking team in the Sussex Cardiac Centre. You need to have a flexible approach to work with excellent organisational skills and be able to work under your own initiative.

This is a challenging role with responsibility for providing administrative and clerical support for all elective/inpatients within the Sussex Cardiac Centre, specifically Cardiac Surgery. This includes adhering to and understanding the Access Policy and Waiting Time Targets. The role includes patient registration, booking appointments, and retrieval of medical records. The post holder will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver the highest standards of service. The structure of the admin team ensures the successful applicant will receive appropriate support and excellent training.

This post is full time 37.5 hours per week.

Experience within a NHS environment is highly desirable, as is excellent IT skills. Knowledge of OASIS is also desirable but full training will be given on OASIS and the cardiac database.

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.

Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)

The pay banding will be set at the band below the advertised post. For internal or current NHS employees you will remain on your current banding, this only applies for those currently on Bands 1-4.

On successful completion of your training and subject to sign off by your manager / mentor you will automatically transition to the substantive banding which the vacancy was originally advertised at.
